Full course description
This professional development course is designed to equip Hinds Community College employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively during an active shooter or violent intruder situation. Through this training, participants will learn how to recognize warning signs of potential violence, understand the importance of situational awareness, and implement the “Run, Hide, Fight” response model to enhance personal and workplace safety. The course emphasizes preparedness, communication, and coordination with campus security and law enforcement. By the end of this training, employees will be better prepared to protect themselves and others, contribute to a secure campus environment, and support Hinds’ ongoing commitment to safety and emergency readiness.
