Description: This is a course designed to train educators on how to best serve diverse students through learning styles, multiple intelligences, social factors, and removing teacher biases. This course will require educators to have an open-mind to challenging topics, a willingness to access unconscious biases, and a desire to learn best practices for teaching a diverse student population. By the end of the training, participants will have strategies to effectively engage students from diverse backgrounds
Course Learning Outcomes:
· Recognize the importance of building individual learner profiles and use the results for effective planning and creation of inclusive instructional strategies
· Analyze diverse learning styles and multiple intelligences and apply that knowledge to best practices
· Examine diverse social factors and recognize their impact for the teacher decision-making process.
· Recognize various biases and identify methods for incorporating cultural diversity into the classroom.
